5 deaths, including 2 children, due to famine and malnutrition in the past 24 hours

Medical sources in the Gaza Strip announced today, Tuesday, the death of 5 citizens, including two children, due to famine and malnutrition, recorded by Gaza Strip hospitals during the past 24 hours.

The medical sources stated that the total number of victims of famine and malnutrition has risen to 227 martyrs, including 103 children.

It is worth noting that the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip continues to worsen amid the siege and shortage of food and medical supplies, as severe famine overlaps with a genocide war launched by Israel since October 7, 2023.

Since March 2, 2025, the occupation authorities have closed all crossings with the Gaza Strip and prevented the entry of most food and medical aid, which caused the spread of famine inside the Strip.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) warned that malnutrition among children under five has doubled between March and June due to the ongoing siege.

The World Health Organization confirmed that malnutrition rates in Gaza have reached alarming levels, and the deliberate siege and delay in aid have caused many deaths. Approximately one in every five children under five years old in Gaza City suffers from severe malnutrition.
