In Gaza City’s Tuffah neighborhood, an Israeli airstrike struck a residential home, leaving behind a massive crater. At the bottom lay the lifeless body of a martyr, trapped beneath the rubble and destruction.
With no rescue equipment available and no civil defense teams able to reach the site, five young Palestinian men stepped forward. Risking their lives, they formed a human chain — linking arms and lowering themselves into the crater — to retrieve the body with dignity.
This act of bravery and unity highlights the determination of Gaza’s youth to uphold humanity, even in the face of devastation. In a place where basic resources are scarce and danger is constant, solidarity remains a lifeline.
