The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced today, Sunday, that its flour supplies in the Gaza Strip have been depleted.
The agency stated in a post on its X platform account: "On April 25, the World Food Program announced that its food stocks in Gaza had been completely depleted. The UNRWA flour supplies were exhausted earlier this week."
UNRWA explained that it has "around 3,000 trucks loaded with life-saving aid ready to enter Gaza," but Israel is preventing the entry of these aid trucks.
The Gaza Strip, with a population of about 2.4 million people, almost entirely relies on humanitarian aid, which has been completely halted since March 2, when Israel closed the Karem Abu Salem, Zikim, and Beit Hanoun crossings.
The organization emphasized that "the siege" imposed by Israel on the Gaza Strip for years must be lifted.
